We can all agree that the last several weeks have been challenging for so many others on the planet – from Mexico to the Caribbean and beyond.
Questions came up.
How do we help everyone?
What can we do?
My initial idea was to gather flashlights, batteries and other dry goods needed for these areas, however, there were challenges with where to ship them so that they’d get to those in need. With a bit more searching I found that I have several contacts with family in Puerto Rico and that’s one way that we can continue to help by getting addresses for those in need that are connected to people we know.
Another way to help is to donate.
If you can, please consider sharing this post as it includes a number of organizations and ways we can help those in need. There are other organizations, however, I have included several that I thought would be a good start to help Puerto Rico, Mexico, USVI, BVI, the Caribbean and Bahamas.
One way to help Mexico is to continue traveling! Tourism income will help the people recover from the recent earthquakes. There are also opportunities for Volunteer Travel if that’s something you’re willing and able to do.
