We often think about the music of our lives. Perhaps we reflect more on songs from our earlier years and memories from high school and college.
Songs for 2021
Music touches us in so many different ways – songs can bring up emotions from loss, joy, despair, and goals we’ve realized – you get the picture.
I’ve been thinking about some of the songs that have helped me get through extremely difficult times – times of loss and self-doubt and also times of joy and accomplishment. So here we go with some songs for 2021 that have inspired me over the years.
First up – this is the theme song that I chose for 2020 – well, I still have faith, and it’s on my list of songs for 2021!
Faith of the Heart, Russel Watson
The Greatest Show, The Greatest Showman
This is one to listen to to reconnect with that feeling of determination and perseverance.
A Million Dreams, The Greatest Showman
Do you often stay awake thinking about the dreams you still have? I sure do! This is one of my top songs for 2021.
I Was Here, Lady A
I do want to do more of what matters and this song has always reminded me of that and I hope that you add this to your list of songs for 2021.
The Climb, Miley Cyrus
This is pretty much the theme song of my entire life. How about you? Is there a song that truly resonates with you? Definitely on my songs for 2021 and beyond.
“Keep on moving, keep climbing, keep the faith.”
It’s true, it’s about the journey and not always the destination.
Fight Song, Rachel Platten
There isn’t anything I can say that’s better than this song. Listening again now and it’s one of those songs of 2021 that needs to be played each day. We’ve got this!
Believe, Fearless Soul
We must believe that the best is yet to come. If you started something new in 2020, keep going, and never give up on your dreams.
Stand by You, Rachel Platten
Maybe someone supported you this year and perhaps you were there for others. This song inspires us to stand by those we love and those we don’t know.
Stand in the Light, Jordan Smith
Wow, just wow! Another one to listen to … often. Always stand in the light.
Everything’s Gonna Be Alright David Lee Murphy and Kenny Chesney
Brave, Sara Bareilles
Another one that you just have to listen to.
Broken Arrows, Avicii
This one is based on a true story – please watch the full video.
Music touches my life in so many ways, as I’m sure it does for you. There are a number of other songs that can go on this list and I’d love to hear about some of the songs that inspire you so go ahead and put them in the comments.
The song that whispers to my soul that “the rest is still unwritten” is this one.
Unwritten, Natasha Bedingfield
Rise Up, Andra Day
It’s been a difficult year – no one will dispute that. There have been silver linings for some, many difficulties for others, and yet through it all we must find our own way to rise up – have hope, faith and pray that all things will work out for our good and the good of others.
Let us say goodbye to what we must leave behind and welcome in a new year filled with hope, health, joy, and new adventures. Happy New Year!
There’s power in music and I hope you enjoy listening to these songs for 2021 and also hope that they’ll inspire you to follow your dreams and create your best life. – 𝒟❀𝓃𝓃𝒶
